Would you like your student to become a happier, more capable reader? We would! In our assessment for academic or test prep tutoring, we sometimes find that a student can benefit from strategic reading tutoring:

• Some students struggle with the fundamental skills of reading: finding details, understanding vocabulary, and determining main idea.
• Some capable readers are challenged by higher-order reading skills: interpretation, inference, and conclusions.
• Occasionally, we also find some capable readers struggle with particular kinds of texts. For example, a reader who devours novels may struggle with scientific texts, or the opposite.

For all these challenges, a strategic reading program can be ideal. In our Strategic Reading curriculum, partnered with writing if you choose, we will teach your student the critical reading and thinking skills they need for college. Strategic Reading is another way we help students feel ready for the higher-level reading and thinking they will encounter in higher education.
